Our hospice care enables families to create cherished memories because we know that every moment matters
Hospice care is about much more than pain management. It’s about providing a support system for the entire family, granting the opportunity to make beautiful memories. So many have said that they wish they had called hospice sooner.
Since 1983, our dedicated team of healthcare workers has provided the highest level of hospice care for those who are facing serious, life-limiting illnesses. Our compassionate and nurturing team supplies hospice care for 18 counties in North Carolina and Virginia at a variety of locations throughout the area.
Symptom management improves quality of life
Choosing hospice is not “giving up,” but rather welcoming care in your home. Our focus is making patients as comfortable as possible by managing symptoms so they can spend their time doing the things that matter most to them. We provide care in the home or wherever the patient calls home – whether that’s one of our inpatient hospice care centers, an assisted living community, or elsewhere. This is just one of the many ways our hospice services bring comfort and support to your loved ones. This is just one way our hospice service benefits the ones you hold dear.
Did you know? Nationwide, more than a million patients and their families have utilized the services of hospice. While 60% of hospice patients have cancer, hospice is not only for cancer patients. We also provide hospice for dementia, heart disease, COPD, AIDS, and other life-limiting illnesses.
Who qualifies for in-home hospice care services?
To qualify for hospice services, you must have a serious, chronic illness with a life expectancy of six months or less. In addition, to receive hospice care, you can no longer be seeking curative treatment.
Hospice services are covered by Original Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurers. We encourage you to speak to your insurance representative or check your plan benefits to ensure you have the most up-to-date information concerning your coverage.
