One of the greatest benefits of Mountain Valley’s hospice care is that we’re able to provide care wherever our patients call home, enabling them to make every moment count. Often, this means a residence where they are in a familiar place surrounded by family.
However, in certain cases, effective symptom control can’t be managed in the home. If that occurs, patients have the option of receiving care in one of our beautiful, peaceful hospice care centers. When they are at the hospice care center, they will still receive the same quality care from our dedicated team.

We have two hospice care centers ready to care for your loved one when they need it most: The Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home and the SECU Hospice Care Center.
Mountain Valley Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home
The Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home is located in Dobson, NC, and features a lovely view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the middle of peaceful farmland. Since 2009, it has served residents of Surry County and surrounding areas.
This 22,000-square-foot facility features:
- 20 patient suites with outdoor patios
- Two family rooms
- Chapel
- Kitchen with dining area
- Children’s playroom
- Volunteer room
- Meditation garden
- On-site camper hookups

Mountain Valley SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin
The SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin opened on August 1, 2017. It features a beautiful courtyard with a peaceful surrounding.
The 10,000-square-foot facility features:
- Six patient suites with outdoor patios
- Family room
- Chapel
- Kitchen with dining area
- Children’s playroom
- Teen room
- Community meeting room
- Covered patio
- Sunroom
